2011 BRG conference topics

Post by Susan Smith »

This upcoming conference looks to be a wonderful mix of useful, practical and inspiration presentations! There are a few workshops, plenty of lecture-style presentations, some open time to exchange ideas, and loads of "Nifty Neato" sharing that you won't want to miss! (if you have something to share and haven't contacted me, please see the related post on this topic.)

Thanks in advance to all of our presenters. (I will be contacting you soon in Email...)

Some of the topics that we will be covering and sharing at the year's conference is:
  • Client Server (setup and usage)
Supporting Macs (how it differs from Windows…what you need to know)
Lists & Grids: 3 new read types, 2 new range selection types
Fine grain processing (the ability to position your screen fields in between standard rows and columns)
    ScreenIO
SVN workshop (This is open source version control software)
    Printing w/Proportional Fonts
Logging Enhancements - MyEditBR and Notepad++
    New ODBC interface
    Using CSV/Excel files with BR
    Multi-line text boxes
The power of Scripting - with Auto-it and Powershell
BR Wiki - 1) Auto-lookup, 2) How to edit/add your own content to the Wiki
    Superquery/filtering listviews
    An enhanced Message box feature
Context sensitive help with CHM files
A look at a real world ScreenIO application
PDF files - 1) using PDF Overlays, 2) search PDFs from within BR with a shell call
Please plan on joining me in San Diego in April. Some of you have asked that we have a conference on the west coast. Well this is it! Our annual conference is the ONE event where you get to see what your fellow BR developers are doing, chat with other developers about issues you are facing in your own software development efforts, renew old friendships, get inspired, enjoy a little R&R in beautiful sunny San Diego, as well as take a look at what ADS has been up to in its quest to bring you the latest programming features and capabilities that you have been asking for.

Registration information will be available in the next week or so. But put it on your calendar now! April 28-30, 2011
