Conference Registration is open!

Post by Susan Smith »

Hi all,

The gates are open! Get your conference registration in! Please read my other message, posted today, about hotel reservations. Our hotel is booked up, so it's crucial that you make your reservations NOW if you hope to stay any extra nights other than Wed 4/25 through Fri night 4/27.

You won't want to miss this conference. Not only do we have a wonderful slate of presenters and topics (listed below), but it will be the annual Fiesta Week in San Antonio and our hotel is right on the Riverwalk in the middle of all the action!

The actual conference begins on Thurs 4/26 and goes through noon on Saturday 4/28.

Check out some details about the Riverwalk here: http://www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com/

Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk
105 South St. Mary's Street San Antonio, TX 78205
Telephone: (210) 270-7799
www.druryhotels.com

(note that there are TWO Drury hotels on the riverwalk. We are at "The Plaza")

Guest room rate is $149.95 per night.

See the other message in this forum today for more hotel details.

Here are some of the topics scheduled to be presented at the conference:

Run Business Rules in a browser

Printing to Excel or to PDF files

The magic of text files: parsing CSV files

BR cell phone application
* Configuration and system setup
* User interface demonstration

User-defined function for selecting records in extremely large files

New features in FNSNAP

New features for FileIO

SQL interface to Excel

XML
* what you can do with it
* how to parse and use it

BR’s new 4.3 DLL structure and how to update your software

Generating a Report from any LIST or GRID with one line of code
* totals and sub-totals
* Makes use of BR 4.3's newest features
* Queries the properties of the grid/list

Printing Tax forms and other official documents with BR
* Prints to PDF, PCL, or on pre-printed forms with the change of one switch
* Can use partial rows/columns in data entry to enter data directly on a graphical representation of the actual form
* Takes advantage of many NWP (Native Windows Printing)

A look around the corner at BR 4.4

And some fun demonstrations (we call these “Nifty Neatos”)
* Using your tablet to log in to your BR system
* Easy flash videos
* A cool search filter box for lists & grids
* Create an Excel-like thumb on the left side of a list/grid to show you what row you are on

If you have a Nifty Neato to contribute, PLEASE let Susan know!

The conference registration form is attached to this message in both Word format (.docx) and PDF. If you have already paid your BRG dues for the year (and therefore don't owe any money for the conference registration), you can just Email your registration form back to me (Susan). If you owe money, then send your form - with your check - to the address on the form.

I'll be a bit scarce on Friday, but post any questions you have and I'll try to get to them as soon as I can.

I hope to see all of you there! (Remember, we only have 20 rooms at the hotel - claim yours TODAY.)

Last week for conference registration! PLEASE READ

Post by Susan Smith »

Hey all,

This is the last week to get your conference registration in! The deadline is March 26th. You need to register with the BRG Group AND book your hotel rooms right away!

REGISTRATION FORMS
The conference registration form is attached to this message in both Word format (.docx) and PDF. If you have already paid your BRG dues for the year (and therefore don't owe any money for the conference registration), you can just Email your registration form back to me (Susan). If you owe money, then send your form - with your check - to the address on the form ASAP so that it arrives by March 26th.

If I know you're coming (because you're a presenter or you have already talked to me) and you are wondering if it still necessary to send in the registration form, the answer is YES. You still need to register. No exceptions. (I submitted one too, even though it was going to myself.)

I am only making conference books for people who have registered by March 26th. Please don't get left out.

HOTEL
Our hotel is booked up, so there are no available rooms for the general public. We still have a few rooms left from the block of rooms that we reserved for our group, but when they are gone, you will not be able to get a room in our hotel. It is CRUCIAL that you make your reservations NOW if you want to stay with us there. There has been a little confusion booking rooms this week. The hotel has told at least one person that the hotel is full and they can't reserve a room. If this happens to you, please notify me. If you don't remember if you have booked your room, PLEASE ASK ME (or call the hotel). To book a room, call (800) 378-7946 and mention group # 2120284 (The Business Rules Group or BRG).
