BRG 2018 Conference - presenters wanted

Post by Susan Smith »

Calling all presenters!

I'm taking offers from presenters for the BRG conference in New Orleans! At the last conference, we had many people share informally what they were up to in BR. (I even did it! Shock.) Well, I would love to see some more of that informal sharing this time, as well as some more formal presentations that are planned ahead - perhaps with some handouts or materials that people can take home to try for themselves. Let's try to get a mix of both.

If you are working on a project and would like to share it, or you have a technique that you would like to teach the rest of us about, please contact me as soon as possible. This is YOUR conference and it will be what we make it.

Hey guys, is there anyone else available to share at the conference? Short talks, long talks, brief demonstrations of your application...I can use it all. But I really need to know soon. Please examine your schedules and see if you can spare a bit of time to work on something to share. And let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Conference Presenters and Materials

Post by Susan Smith »

Hi all,

Last call for presenters for the conference. I would LOVE to have a few more people to share something from their application. I'm not looking for a big teaching session (though I wouldn't turn that down!), but rather little tidbits or techniques that you find useful in your own application. We did a lot of this at last year's conference and it was really well received. Many people told me that they enjoyed this a lot and even the smallest things were helpful to somebody in that room. So nothing is too small. If you would like to get up there for a few minutes and show us something, please let me know ASAP as I'm finalizing the details now and I don't want to leave you out. Also, if you have anything that you want on the flash drive to share with the folks (whether or not you plan to speak), I need to know about that so that I can pester you to give it to me before I duplicate the flash drives. This can be a screenshot of a fun thing, a utility (BR or other) that you use and can share, actual documentation about something to educate the folks, or really, ANYTHING. I just need to know that something will be coming from you so I don't forget about it.

There are only 4 weeks left, so this is the home stretch!

I think I have a few things to share, primarily new features in FileIO and ScreenIO.

Depending on how the webinar goes I may also have a phone/web program written in BR by then to show. But then again 4 weeks is not that far away so I'll see what I can come up with.

I could present how I use notepad++ for editing br code and some of the tools that make all the magic happen.

That would be great John. I will send you the email that I sent to the other presenters this morning.
