[BR_forum] plugin test

Post by gordon »

Background-
At the conference we indicated that we had some wrinkles to iron out with the IE plugin. There are two IE versions, one for XP and earlier, and one for
Vista and later.

I couldn't get the Vista version to work with my WIN 7 systems, but the XP
version works just fine in both my Vista and WIN 7 systems.

HOWEVER, the WIN 7 version works for Dan. We haven't been able to
detect what is different between Dan's WIN 7 and mine in relation to this
problem.

Request-
Try this with your IE browser:
And let me know if it FAILS.
I have it now hard coded to use the XP plugin.

We have not experienced a problem with Mozilla browsers such as
Firefox and Chrome. It would also be useful to learn about ANY other
browsers that fail to load this plugin.

Thanks.

Interesting given that this is the XP version.Did it actually error out or did it just fail to upload the plugin?
If an error was produced, can you do an entire screen shot?

[BR_forum] plugin test

Post by gordon »

Hi Steve.

I assume, based on the text that you were able to reach the ads.net/plugin site and then after initiating the installation of the plugin this failure occurred. Please let me know if this is not correct.

If this is a failure to download the plugin as described above perhaps it has something to do with a proxy server or firewall.

Once you have confirmed the above details, I would like Dan to work with you by providing extended logging messages to pinpoint the nature of the failure and perhaps circumvent the cause.

Thanks.

** Note: This thread is being served by the “Old E-Mail Forum)

** Note: If I try to open more than 1 session, I receive an error: (Even different machines)

I tried to run IE in the following environments:

Windows 2008 RC2 – (Configured as Server) - I get the plugin page, but nothing else. (My Guess it’s a security issue).

Windows 2008 RC1 – (32 Bit Terminal Server) – Worked Fine

Windows 2003 – (32 Bit Terminal Server) – Worked Fine

Windows 2003 – (64 Bit Server) – Worked Fine

Windows 8 – I get the plugin page, but nothing else. (Similar to 2008 RC2 Server)

Windows 7 – Works Fine.

Windows XP – Works fine

[BR_forum] plugin test

Post by gordon »

The not more than one at a time is intentional. Not recording this thread is also intentional.

I am concerned about Windows 8.

Once Dan gets back in the loop I will pursue this along with Steve's XP plugin access.

Dan is travelling in Europe right now.

Windows 2008 RC2 – (Configured as Server) - I get the plugin page, but nothing else.   (My Guess it’s a security issue).

Windows 2008 RC1 – (32 Bit Terminal Server) – Worked Fine

Windows 2003 – (32 Bit Terminal Server) – Worked Fine

Windows 2003 – (64 Bit Server) – Worked Fine

Windows 8 – I get the plugin page, but nothing else. (Similar to 2008 RC2 Server)

Windows 7 – Works Fine.

Windows XP – Works fine

[BR_forum] plugin test

Post by Susan Smith »

I successfully loaded the plug in with IE 9 (32 bit Win7). I connected to the ADS website:

When I tried it in Firefox 11, the plugin appeared to load, but I was never connected to ADS afterward (no messages). I removed the plugin and tried to reload it, but got this error:

If I click ok on the error screen, I get this:
