Hotel Reservations
In additional to mailing your conference registration form, you need to book your hotel room.
Our group room rate is $149 per nite.

** Please make your hotel reservations using our group code, rather than using an outside travel service.

Our room rate will be honored from April 20th-28th in case you would like to bring your families and have an extended stay in Boston. All rooms are two-room guest suites with executive work spaces, high-speed internet access, and kitchen area with microwave and refrigerator. A hot made-to-order breakfast is included with your room rate.

Check-In: 3:00 PM - Check-Out: 12:00 PM
There is a complimentary shuttle from the airport.

You can make your hotel reservations by:
1. Calling the hotel directly at 617-567-5000 and giving them group code BRG
2. Visiting http://embassysuites1.hilton.com and searching for the Boston airport location. Or go directly there http://tinyurl.com/ybxuexd Then use the group code BRG in the "Group Convention Code" field under the "Special Accounts" section.

AGENDA

Here are the topics that we plan to cover:

THURSDAY
  • * A BIG focus on BR 4.2 features with a Q&A session at the end
    * Chris and Gabriel on FileIO-2
    * Chris on BRMyAdmin
    * Steve on Client Server, HTTP, Standard Out
    * George on "Playing with Arrays"
    * Nifty Neatos, including converting an XLS file to Tab-delimited from within BR, using the BR STR2MAT function, and whatever else folks bring to share

FRIDAY
  • * Chris on the web-scripting bridge that allows you to run your BR programs over the web. There will be some follow-up afterwards where we can see a working example (or two) of this.
    * Mikhail on PEM - using .net controls in your BR programs
    * George - "Reports as a Function", featuring updates to his form-printing routine.
    * Nifty Neatos
SATURDAY (HALF DAY)
  • * Gabriel - demo of the latest ScreenIO GUI screen designer and discussion of functionality that demonstrate BR's versatility as well as some very out-of-the-box technology. He will also revisit his method for working with BR programs without line numbers in external editors such as MyEdit.
    * Gordon - a look ahead to BR 4.3 and the new features which await us
As always, the agenda is subject to change, but we hope it doesn't have to!

Lunch on Thursday and Friday will be provided by the BRGroup and will be catered at the hotel. We are on our own for dinner, but I imagine that the majority of people will choose to take the "T" (subway train) into Boston to choose from many wonderful places to eat, shop and sightsee. If you can stick around for the rest of the weekend, you can choose to see Boston on the trolley tour or by walking the Freedom Trail, or even see it from the water aboard one of many available harbor cruises. Boston is rich in history and dripping with remnants of the past. DO take advantage of its offerings!

IMPORTANT:

1. The last conference day (Saturday) is a half day only. 2½ days packed with information is the maximum that most people can absorb. In addition, this half-day schedule helps those who might prefer to head home early and avoid the cost of an extra hotel room on Saturday night.
2. Conference Materials will not be available for purchase to non-attendees who are not also BRGroup members (with 2010 dues paid up). If you cannot attend the conference and want a conference book and flash drive, the registration form includes options to JOIN the BRGroup and also to order conference materials. These orders are due by March 29th - the same day that conference registration closes. Late orders cannot be guaranteed.

If you have any questions, please Email me!

Joining the Business Rules Group

You may have noticed that BRG members do not have to pay conference registration fees and non-members pay $350. Membership in BRG is $250. If you are interested in joining the group BEFORE the conference, you may do so and save yourself $100! The registration form contains a line item to do so.

If you would like to know more about the group, please ask.
