Has anyone been successful in running BR 4.20o on Windows 8. I successfully ran it under the windows 8 Preview. But now have a client with full Windows 8 and when you try to run the executable it acts like it does nothing and in the Windows Application error log it reports a crash. Sporadically I can get it to run by replacing the original exe with a fresh copy. But eventually it returns to the same behavior. Any suggestions other than run 4.3 would be greatly appreciated because thats not an option.

I am using 4.20m without any issues.

These problems are often brconfig.sys issues.
I usually make a small BR installation with Bare minimum config options. Then I start adding back all the config settings.

Also, try running the Debug version of BR, it might cause a crash dump that can help diagnose the problem (With BR Support)

BR 4.2

Larry the forum is working properly now, but it was only recently that it got fixed, so perhaps Steve's original note was posted before that. You can always go read his message directly in the forum itself. The feature that was not working (but is now) is that forum messages were not being automatically forwarded to the old email list.

As far as I know, everything is good now.

Replacing the BR executable with one I downloaded to the Windows 8 machine and placed on the share I was running it on, seemed to resolve the issue for now. Strange solution since the executable ran fine on non-windows 8 machines.

Susan my message was sent a week or more after the forum was fixed. I think the issue of 1st messages not getting seen in email is usually a junk mail filtering issue. Larry I would check any junk mail filters you have and see if the original message was re-routed there.
