We are installing a Customer with 2008 Windows. The file I/O is really slow to the point BR is unusable - particularly when accessing even a moderate number of records (e.g. 10).
At first we were getting a number of memory fault errors and were instructed to make the following Eindows Registry Changes:
1. Disable Oplocks on Windows Client PCs
2. Disable Oplocks on Windows Servers
3. Disable Oplocks on SMB2
We did all of the above and it cured the memory fault errors, but now we have the file I/O response time issue which still leaves our applications useless.
Has anyone else had this issue or cann anyone suggest a work around. This is a large client that has been using BR successfully on Windows 2003, but upgraded a few days ago to 2008.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
With best regards,
Russ Seel

There is a known SMB 2.0 problem with Windows 2008 server, the following link describes how to disable SMB 2.0:
