Printing a Signature

I have an old old customer that changed ownership and needs a new signature on their checks. Running 3.91 and I was using George's check signing but I can't get that to work anymore. Any other options without going to 4.3 with NWP? Any options on an external check signing software that won't cost a fortune? Pete - CTL

I particularly like their solutions because you lock the solution with two separate keys. Both the Manager and the operator need to unlock the device in order to print checks.

Good to hear from you. I am guessing we can get George's check printing to work. So you are needing to make a new signature? How were you trying to do so?

The customer is still on Version 3.91 I can't even find a complete current version of George's "Vol002" and his check signing functions were converted to 4.3 He sent me instructions on how to take a signature .jpg through some freeware to get it into a "SIGNAT" file but that didn't work for me. I sent him the signature file and he got the SIGNAT file back to me but the image was pretty fuzzy. Probably because of where I got it from.

I found a $39 check printing software package online. ezCheckPrinting that included the option to print a signature, logos, micr line, etc. It can print everything on blank stock or with pre-printed forms. You can also go in and remove any or all fields on the check form. So... I setup a check that only includes the signature using the .jpg file I already had. In 5 minutes I was done. The customer runs the actual checks on my software for payroll and payables and then fires up exCheckPrinting and runs a specified number of checks through again for the signature. It allows multiple formats and multiple signatures and I don't have to be involved. How wrong can you go for $39 and 5 minutes of setup?
